(Dear NonScheduled Reader--a good deal of the content of this entry is not my writing. It is the so-called "training materials" for a work at home scam. Should you wish to skip their dull prose, my writing is actually in normal font or italics. The "training materials" are in bold.)
Ok, admit it. We've all gotten curious about the Craigslist ads about making money from home. Since I've spent thirteen dollars on far stupider things in my life, I ponied up and actually paid for one of those things--the ad read: PROCESS ADS FROM HOME I thought, hey, I know it's a scam, but I can do that. *Please note, dear NonScheduled Reader, that this does not denote a failure of Yankee values. I shopped carefully for a cheap scam, so that I could satisfy my damnable bump of curiosity.... So, I contacted the person who told me that the "training materials" were sold, paid the $12.99, and what I got was about what I expected. What you actually DO is place ads. That's it. People send you money. You send them out a tutorial on how to place ads. Now, maybe it's my rather rockribbed New England conscience regarding things that one does for money, but it seems to me that prostitution actually offers a better service-for-return here. Why not be honest? Just place an ad saying "hey, I can use money, wanna send me some?" So in the spirit of the thing--after all, I paid $12.99 for it--I decided I could take their "training materials" and splash them on the web. Remember, folks, I paid the money for these *snicker* "valuable training materials". But first: the email I recieved: Dear Kethrai, I just saw your payment. Thanks for joining! Great decision you’ve made to get started! I have attached the training manual and the Bonus Easy Guide. You can really do a good job at making money if you follow the Training Manual and Easy Guide – and there’s room to be creative! As you learn this and get good practice, you'll find the best ways that this job would work for you. Be sure to read the entire attached Training Manual, which is very clearly written and also the Easy Guide which is just as valuable! Remember, practice makes all this work like clockwork, but it does not involve all that much work. You'll see! (By the way, take it from me - this system works!!) Before you can begin processing ads, you need to have your PayPal and verified. This includes adding your bank account to your PayPal account (this is entirely optional) so you can deposit the money you are paid into your account. PayPal is the easiest and most secure way to be paid for this. Any income you make from this must be kept and recorded by YOU. We do not keep record of how much you make, and it is considered Miscellaneous Income, therefore you need to fill out a 1099 form for taxes at the end of the year.
You may also consider creating a separate email address, as the responses can be in excess of 50+ per day, it would overwhelm your personal email. Create an email address strictly for this job, and add it to your PayPal account as well.
The Ad Cycle
There are millions of advertisements all over the internet today, in the form of pop ups, banners, and emails that we encounter on a daily basis. There wouldn’t be so many if people weren’t actually responding to them. Your job is to process
responses you will receive from your ads. This is where your creativity and self motivation comes into play. The ads that you will have people respond to are entirely created and managed by you.
What is ad processing?
Ad Processing is the entire procedure of placing an ad, collecting responses and sorting responses to that ad, and then following up and replying to them. The basic idea is that you will be managing your own set of ads and when people respond to them, you teach them how to repeat the process on their own.
Step 1: Create and post an ad
The first step is to of course create an ad. There are many sites that allow free ad listings. We recommend using Craigslist.org or your local newspaper’s classifieds site, as you can quickly place a free job posting on these sites. You should also consider monster.com or careerbuilder.com to reach a larger audience, however they charge a small fee. Once you have chosen where to place your ad, browse around and see other ads to get a feel for what the market is like. After doing this, it is time to create your own ad. The purpose of your ad is to find people who are looking to make additional income, and to teach them how to be their own boss and create an online business for themselves. Remember- you are NOT scamming people. You are providing a legitimate teaching service, and people who follow your advice are in a position to make extra income outside of work or between jobs. Do not make your ads sound like a get rich quick scheme, because it’s not. This is an actual job, and the income depends on your motivation to work. You can keep up on your emails in your spare time, and have the potential to make several hundred dollars a week. When making your ads, keep them short and to the point. On the next page are a few sample ads you can choose to use or to help get an idea of what your ad should contain. Craigslist.org is the easiest website to use. Below are simple instructions to place an ad on their site:
1) Visit www.craigslist.org
2) Choose a state to place the ad in from the states listed on the right side
3) Choose a city in the state of where you want to advertise
4) Choose the “job” category
5) Accept the terms of service for Craigslist
6) Choose a job category
7) Fill in all of the fields for your listing, and click Continue when finished
8) Review over your listing and publish it once its completed
9) Craigslist will send you an email to confirm the listing. Click the
confirmation link in the email
10) That’s it-your listing is complete. You will start to receive responses very shortly. Sample Ad Listings

Step 2: Processing your responses
People will begin to respond immediately to your ads. This is where the bulk
of your work comes in. All of your responses are inquiries from people that are
genuinely interested in creating some additional cash flow. You need to create a
follow up email describing the job they will be doing, and the potential money they can make. The job is simply what you are doing- creating ads and processing the responses to them. People will skeptical of this at first, but it is an easy and rewarding way to earn money. You are teaching people how to create their own online business and earn money in their spare time. Make the job sound fun and easy. Below are a couple follow up emails to give you an idea of what to say:

This is where you make your money. If people are serious about the job, they
will usually be willing to pay the processing fee. You can charge whatever amount you like, however we don’t recommend charging more than $20. Most fees typically range between $10-$15, as this is a fairly acceptable amount. Do not be hesitant to charge the fee-this is your payment. This is also where people will become a bit skeptical. Explain to them that the fee exists for a reason-it is the cost for the training
materials. If the materials were free, then everyone would already know how to do this, and the job would be dead. Please keep in mind-THIS IS NOT A SCAM. A scam is when someone takes your money and gives you nothing in return. You are providing people with a genuine service that will help them to earn money. Step 4: Training
Once you have collected the processing fee, respond PROMPLTY with the
training materials. Once people have paid you, they will not want to wait more than a day to receive the materials. You are at your liberty with what you send to them. Most people like to create their own training material. Your’s can vary greatly from someone else’s in terms of what you teach your customer. You do not necessarily have to teach them how to do what you’ve been taught. You can teach them other ways to make money online, such as:
Reviewing Ads (many companies will pay people to simply review ads)
Take online surveys
Buy and resell items on eBay
The ways to make money through at home work online are endless-be creative!
What you choose to send people is entirely up to you. We recommend you
create your own training materials. This will cause you to invest time in the job and will add a personal touch to the training materials. This personal touch will motivate you to collect processing fees. If you know of ways your customers can make money while working at home, let them know! They paid you to learn how they can, so don’t let them down. As with any job, you should process all your responses in a timely manner. With time, you will develop your own system for this and it will become easier and easier. There is a lot of money to be made here. As we’ve said many times before, the amount you make is up to you. In my first week I made $500 doing this. I had to invest the processing fee as well, but it was worth it. I made it back the next day! Good luck in all you do!

STEP 4 – PLACING ADS
Congratulations!
You are now ready to begin placing ads!
Below are samples of the ads that I use on www.Craigslist.org. These ads have been tested and work well!
I recommend that you copy the “Ads” and also “Email Replies” sections of this guide to separate new documents and save them to a folder called “Sample Ads” and “Sample Emails” for easier access and use. (I’ve included sample folders that I started for you as an example, but feel free to set this up in whatever way that is easiest for you. However, if you do use my sample folders, don’t forget to copy and paste in the rest of the Ads/Email Responses from this Guide.)
Feel free to improvise/change words and titles, even the approximate amounts, but I recommend that you DO NOT change the general content of the ads, unless you are creating a totally different ad. Afterall, why would you want to change something that works! Don’t be surprised if you see other ads already posted that look just like your ads. Either go to another city and return later to post your ad or post a different ad. There’s more than enough room out there on the Super Internet Highway for all us and to share the wealth.
In the Sample Ads folder you will see that I’ve attached little bits of pertinent information that is required when placing ads in Craigslist. I recommend that you keep this and be sure you’ve inserted your email addresses. Having this information right there with each ad makes it so much simpler and easier to place ads. After a few practices, placing ads using the cut & paste procedure should only take you about 1 minute!
I’ve numbered the ads so that you can have a way of keeping track of what ads you’ve already placed and where. I recommend that you keep a simple 6 column log with the following headings so that you can track which ads did well and where: DATE / AD # / STATE / CITY / # RESPONSES / # PAID . Some cities are more responsive than others, as well as, some ads are more popular than others. Keeping this log will provide you with this information and will be very helpful. (I’ve included a sample of the log with the training materials.
Be creative and conservative. You don’t want Craigslist or wherever you advertise, to delete your ad. Your ads can be deleted every now and then - just repost.
If you are not the bold, adventurous type, you might want to only place a couple of ads at first. Once you are comfortable with what you are doing – feel free to place as many ads as you want. Use different titles, texts, different cities, and even change email addresses (when you get better and if you can manage it).
POSTING ADS ON CRAIGSLIST:
As you know, Craigslist is one of the most popular Classified Ads websites on-line because it is basically a free site. However, there are other Classified Ads websites out there. Don’t be afraid to explore…the possibilities are endless. Just be sure that you always read the rules and regulations. Not all Classified Ads websites are free sites and some websites only allow work-from-home type business ads to be posted in specific categories. Posting ads is quite simple, but I do recommend that you read the About Us, Rules or Help sections so that you can you familiarize yourself with rules.
It is recommended that you post your ads in the “ET CETERA” category or your ad could be deleted without any notification from Craigslist. As mentioned before, if your ad is deleted or it doesn’t post within 24 hours, go ahead and re-post it again.
Signing-up for an account with Craigslist is optional. However, if you don’t sign-up for an account, please remember that each ad you post will need to be published. In other words, once you post an ad, you will receive a notification from Craigslist in your email with a link to your ad. To publish your ad, click on the link and your ad will appear in another window and a brown box will appear with a button that says “publish.” Once you click the publish button, the brown box will turn green and your ad should be posted and on the site within 15 minutes.
Keep in mind that Craigslist DOES NOT allow you to post more than one ad, in the same city or in more than one city, in the same state, in a 48-hour period.

This is the email you will send initially when you receive a response to your ad. Open your email and click on Compose. Address it to your applicant. Copy and paste the email below into the body of your email. Send to your applicant. (It is highly recommended that you go to your SENT folder after sending your email and move the email to a folder named REPLIED so that you can track who has responded to you and you know what you sent to the applicant.)

example, if you process 35 in a week you’ll make $350 to $700 weekly. The
average person makes $600 per week. The amount of money you earn is entirely
up to you, but if you are ambitious, you can certainly do extremely well!
Training: The training materials you receive will give you step-by-step instructions
on how to get started. When you receive your training materials, you may
begin working the same day. There are no special requirements for this
position. Payment For Work Completed: You will receive your payments through PayPal for each application you
process. If you do not have a PayPal account, please sign up for a free account at www.paypal.com . The sign up process is very secure and simple and only takes a few minutes, (signing up for a Premier Account would be a good choice). PayPal is the easiest way for you to get paid online, as this is completely internet-based work. If you are interested and would like the Training Materials, please reply to this email and change the subject line to “PLEASE SEND TRAINING MATERIALS TO JESSICA” and I will send you the training materials to your email address within 24 hours.
There is a ONE TIME ONLY non-refundable fee of $10.00 to cover the cost and processing of the training materials, which can be paid from your PayPal account. This payment can be made to yourpaypalemail@whatever.com through PayPal. This money is easily made back by processing one ad response and it shows you are sincere about the job. This is the ONLY fee you will incur for this job. After receiving the materials fee, I will send you the materials to your email address within 24 hours, but usually much sooner.

Q: why is it that you want $15.00 for training materials while someone else who sent me the exact same email when I asked them about something similar wanted $10.00?
Hi Jessica, That's a good question! There's room here to do that. I assure you that my Easy Guide alone is worth $15.00. Also, perhaps the information I have differs from what the next person has. I am not for sure about what is in someone else's Training Manual or Easy Guide (if there is one), but I like to ensure that people get clear, concise instructions.
If you are serious about this (you sure seem to have the qualifications and motivation!), I'll be happy to make the amount $10 for you. It really doesn't matter much too me. My goal is to help you to make the extra money I offered in my initial ad. If you are still hesitant – feel free to send me $10.00 as a first installment. These applications are simply responses from various ads that are placed online.
You simply reply to them.
It doesn't take much of your time to respond to each ad - approximately 1 or 2 minutes per ad. Sometimes it takes less than a few minutes.
Again, this is not inappropriate material in any way.
This is not a survey company and you will not receive junk mail - I don't know what you've seen in the past. It is really up to you.
This is a legitimate way to earn extra income, but you do not need to be a part of it if you prefer an office job. If you like the idea of working from your home or spare time in your office, whenever you have time or want to we have a solution that many people are finding works. It is up to you if you'd like to join here (or not), but this is a good way to earn extra bill-paying/ spending money!

These applications are responses from various ads that are placed online. You'd simply reply to them with the best response (a guide will be provided to help you with this.)
It doesn't take much of your time to respond to each ad - approximately 1 or 2 minutes per ad. Sometimes it takes less than a few minutes to respond. You are, however, simply responding to live people on the other end. These live people may be available any time, even up in the middle of the night (many people are, for whatever reason and also depending on their time zone). Keep in mind, though, that timely responses contributed alot to the success of this business
You can get paid a few times a day or night or numerous times each day/ night. It just depends on how much you process, and how much of what you process turns into payment for you. Take it from me, you'll get payments if you follow the system closely. You won't run out of people and applications if you follow our system in our Training Manual and Easy Guide. (Sometimes you'll get more than you want to handle, but you can take a break any time until you want to do more and want to get paid more).
If you like the idea of working from your home (or spare time in your office - or from anywhere using your laptop), whenever you have time or want to...we have a solution that many people are finding works. It helps a lot of people pay their bills or have extra spending money!

Here's some information to clarify...
If I knew the names of the creators of this program, I'd call them and thank them, but I don't have that information. A short while ago, I knew nothing of this program.
Briefly, the task is extremely simple. If you know how to use a computer in the most basic sense, you'd simply email back people who email you in response to ads (nothing bad in the ads!). These people simply are interested in the ads and want more information. You can send responses that are appropriate. We have many responses to choose from. If you'd like to use our responses I have created in a Word doc that you can even copy and paste! It becomes second nature on the second day of doing this work...it really is that easy. You do not have to be tied to your computer. Just check your emails every now and then. You'd have to set up a PayPal account, if you don't already have one so that you can start getting paid even on the first day, possibly! The online world is very different from the offline world of work. You won't get checks - just paid through PayPal daily, which you can link to your checking account and keep transferring money into it from the PayPal. The way you are paid is kind of like when I had an E-Bay store...I usually did not know who was going to pay me until I received notification from PayPal (daily) each time someone did (from any state).
Not everything works like a brick-and-mortar business in the online world. I personally have helped many people earn from home doing this work. I continue to communicate with people from all walks of life who need the extra income...professionals, students at the graduate level who are on the computer daily, busy moms, people who were unemployed and are now finding some income. To some, this is ideal, and a blessing - an additional stream of income.
Just to let you know, it has been 2 weeks of doing this work for me! In my first day and a half, I earned $100+, and in my first full week I earned well over $500, and very part-time at that! $500 may not seem much in a week, but it is $2000 in a month, and that helps to pay bills. I don't even have a boss! This works allows incredible flexibility, (you can work day or night and you can start/stop whenever you want.) I'm very thankful I ran across it almost accidentally.
